Annual Food Box Packing & Delivery
December 17-18, 2021
box delivery group
December 17 and 18, 2021 the Newsies and various guests met at Jerry's Fireworks on Hornsmill Road to celebrate our annual packing and delivery of nearly 500 food boxes.  With our help families throughout Fairfield County ate just a little bit better over the Christmas holiday, and re-stocked their homes with other essential household items - just as they have since 1936!

The
Charity Newsies wish to especially thank the seventeen ECHO program students from Fisher Catholic High School who helped various of our regular crews deliver food boxes!

Annual Newspaper Sale
December 11, 2021

On Saturday, December 11
Charity Newsies held our annual Newspaper Sale (the signature event we were founded on in 1936!) - and though it ended up being a severe weather-shortened day on the streets, that didn't dampen the spirits of Newsies stationed throughout the county.

Annual Auction & Banquet
December 2021
The Charity Newsies returned to an in-person Auction & Banquet on Thursday, December 2 and welcomed nearly 250 guests to a tremendous evening of fun, fellowship and fundraising!  One of the highlights of this event was the awarding of our annual Nauman Legacy Award to long-time Newsie Dave Alvis.  The Legacy Award was created in 2018 and named for the late Jerry Nauman; it honors the spirit of community service that Jerry embodied.  Alvis, owner of Don's Furniture on East Main Street in Lancaster, routinely steps in to help us provide beds and specialty bedding resources if and when the Newsies receive a request for a family in need. Congratulations Dave!
